    END OF THE ROAD BLOG

So this is what it feels like; freedom.

Is this what time on my hands will taste like?

Free from what, one might ask?

    A TOURING SCHEDULE.

I do feel different. A little scared even. A little relieved maybe.

Last night I slept like I haven't in years. Souls and spirits, coughs and colds, I don'thave to be scared of them now… Let go man, let go.

I feel so grateful, so very blessed. How could this all have happened to me? A journey one can't even describe. An emotional jet lag one cant comprehend.

As I said I'm grateful and blessed but like any other soul not done of course. There's a million things I could have done differently and even better but again, art and life is never finished, just abandoned. ( Thanks, Leonardo Da Vinci.)

I've done what I've could on this cycle, my wounded one, and now its time for me to retreat and rest a little and hopefully rise from the ashes again.

I want to thank everyone for supporting me, for coming to my shows, listening to my music and watching the little films I've done. I sometimes feel embarrassed cause I feel I've still not nailed it but at the same time humbled by the opportunity ofgetting to grow in front of all you. I hope we will continue to grow together in whatever direction it will take…

    I love you all.

As I will continue to contemplate on myself, the past and the world I will probably find all kind of leftovers in need of a home so lets start slowly…

    Here is one already found.

    Another lost session.

    Yours Truly,

    THE LAB Magazine

For this piece she's interviewed by Tarik Saleh, the director behind her Sadness and Rivers video.

" These days, in the music biz, there’s a great measure for whether you’re what the kids are listening to. And that measure is Glee. Of course, Lykke Li’s 2011 single I Follow Rivers was belted out by Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina) on the second season of the Fox smash-hit, but that’s no real surprise. The Swedish performer has been heating up Europe since the release of her debut albumYouth Novels in 2008 and her sophomore effort, Wounded Rhymes, is a Top 40 hit in the USA and Canada. She’s played at Coachella and Lollapalooza, acted her socks off in a music video with Stellan Skarsgård and even wrote a song for The Twilight Saga: New Moon. Lykke Li’s star is on the rise, and who better to check in with her on this incredible journey than someone who’s directed music videos for two of her hit singles (Sadness is a Blessing and I Follow Rivers) and considers her a good friend – man of many talents Tarik Saleh. He finds out what it’s like being Lykke Li and how she’s handling the life-changing effects of success. Oh yes, the kids are listening, and so is everyone else. "

    A message from Lykke...

I leave it, I come back and wonder why I ever left my dear New York? Well, for one, the road is a-calling.

Anyway, a while ago I got to revisit the studio where I recorded the last finishing pieces of my first record. It is a wonderful, wonderful studio with lots of wonderful instruments lying around and of course it’s all baked in with atmosphere and history. On my first record Walter Sear was still alive and he played the Theremin on a few tracks, will never forget that. What is so wonderful about that studio as well is that they have a window where you can go stand in between the takes and gaze at the skyline; Mama, at least I made it here...

I had no idea what was going to happen then with anything and I have no idea what is going to happen know. But life is a river so just keep on sailin' I guess?

Back to the story, I got the chance to revisit the studio to record some acoustic tracks from my new album together with my lovely dearest band, again sitting in a circle, facing the unknown. I recorded it on the release week of my album and many circles later I am sitting here writing to you. I've experienced some tremendous things lately, like a sold out summer night at Central Park, a Greek Theatre in Los Angeles but also a snap on the nose that I must take better care of my health cause life is fragile, as we've all learnt the last couple months. Fall is around the corner and my quest is to find the unified field and to work on acceptance and kindness towards myself and others. Being this far into the campaign I also want to take the time to say how very thankful I am that you've embraced my record, it’s going to make me want to do an even braver follow up.

I also want to say to everyone who bumps into me after shows or on the streets when I’m "off-duty", I am sincerely honestly very very shy and don't know what to do of myself when I am not on stage as I never thought I had to face the listeners but could hide behind my work, so forgive me if I come of as rude or aloof, its just that I am very very shy. But know that I am thankful and blessed for having you as my audience, I should probably go on some public speaking course or something.

In the meantime, please check out my iTunes Sessions EP, it’s some tracks from the album, a cover but also a re-take of Hanging High, which I think finally comes into its right place. I hope you get it, like it and love it!!

    LOVE,

    LL

A lot of the time we got lost along the way, in a good way, so here you go my friends, the lost session of Jerome, together with my beloved Zhala Rifat, Mariam Wallentin, Mikael Svensson, Lars Skoglund and Anders Stenberg.
