A message from Lykke...

I leave it, I come back and wonder why I ever left my dear New York? Well, for one, the road is a-calling.

Anyway, a while ago I got to revisit the studio where I recorded the last finishing pieces of my first record. It is a wonderful, wonderful studio with lots of wonderful instruments lying around and of course it’s all baked in with atmosphere and history. On my first record Walter Sear was still alive and he played the Theremin on a few tracks, will never forget that. What is so wonderful about that studio as well is that they have a window where you can go stand in between the takes and gaze at the skyline; Mama, at least I made it here...

I had no idea what was going to happen then with anything and I have no idea what is going to happen know. But life is a river so just keep on sailin' I guess?

Back to the story, I got the chance to revisit the studio to record some acoustic tracks from my new album together with my lovely dearest band, again sitting in a circle, facing the unknown. I recorded it on the release week of my album and many circles later I am sitting here writing to you. I've experienced some tremendous things lately, like a sold out summer night at Central Park, a Greek Theatre in Los Angeles but also a snap on the nose that I must take better care of my health cause life is fragile, as we've all learnt the last couple months. Fall is around the corner and my quest is to find the unified field and to work on acceptance and kindness towards myself and others. Being this far into the campaign I also want to take the time to say how very thankful I am that you've embraced my record, it’s going to make me want to do an even braver follow up.

I also want to say to everyone who bumps into me after shows or on the streets when I’m "off-duty", I am sincerely honestly very very shy and don't know what to do of myself when I am not on stage as I never thought I had to face the listeners but could hide behind my work, so forgive me if I come of as rude or aloof, its just that I am very very shy. But know that I am thankful and blessed for having you as my audience, I should probably go on some public speaking course or something.

In the meantime, please check out my iTunes Sessions EP, it’s some tracks from the album, a cover but also a re-take of Hanging High, which I think finally comes into its right place. I hope you get it, like it and love it!!

Lykke! I'm stopping by to say that you are great. Wounded rhymes, what a masterpiece. How it have helped out listening to some sincerity and rawness in this world of glossiness. To be allowed to feel sorrow from time to time. That life isn't always so easy. It's so important! You are a voice for us who feel but don't know how to express it. The album speaks to me like you know exactly what the whole thing is about. I think you're on to something!

The search of something real, something pure, and you know true things, when there's so much distraction out there. To try to find something, and do it well, try to achieve something good in the world! You are such an inspiration. And you write that you're going to work on acceptance and kindness towards yourself and others, exactly what we all need to do. I'm doing it as well and I feel such humbleness and joy thinking about all these kind persons out there. Meetings between people, sharing, loving, this is the way.

Hullo.

I feel you... My old band had a studio like that in part of the Chelsea Hotel years ago, so good to feel so open that the room can give it back.

My wife and I are looking forward to the mini-trip to NJ. We couldn't attend Central Park so glad to get those Montclair tix - U

Anyway, life does circle a lot, I'm in the middle of a huge one.
I've been sick for a long long time.

And your music has been an enormous help. One year ago I was feeling so helpless, despite all the treatments I just can't get better, you know? And then there was Possibility, in that dark saturday night those three magical words "There's a possibility..." lulled me back to earth.

It's still amazing to me how a song from a girl from the side of the hemisphere could have helped me, a girl from Rio. I know it happens to everybody since... I don't know, forever... but is so damn crazy and beautiful that I still can't wrap my mind around it.

Anyway, thanks for making the circle I am in more enjoyable.

The Itunes Session is great. Lykke Li always knows how to put a new take on a song and make it sound completely new

Love the EP, your live performances just leave me speechless! I had the honor of watching you perform at Lolla and at the House of Blues. while I was only planning on seeing you at HOB, I had to watch your performance the following day. You have such a deep connection with your audience... I couldn't even dance I was so captivated by the music and your performance.

The iTunes EP is incredible. I feel like your songs bring me to a deeper understanding of myself. I am awakened and enlivened by the honesty in your beautiful voice. Your music has brought so much to my life and, as an artist, you are everything that truly inspires me. I appreciate your bravery and your sincerity and I am looking so forward to seeing you in perform in Austin this November!
